Bullfrogs Strike Early, Struggle Late in Loss

The Bullfrogs managed only two base runners in the final eight innings, and dropped game two of a three game series to the Express in Eau Claire by a score of 7-2 on Wednesday night.

The night looked promising for Green Bay early on. The Bullfrogs tagged Express starter Devin Moore for two runs on RBI singles from Billy Moon and Jason McMurray to take a 2-0 lead early on.

The Express got on the board in the third inning with a home run from Nick Addison, and then opened it up with four runs off of reliever Mac Acker in the fourth inning.

Starter Harry Stanwyck left after only three innings, as pre-determined by manager Jordan Bischel. In the fourth inning, Acker walked three batters, gave up three hits, through two wild pitches and only recorded one out before being relieved by Robb Woodcock. Eau Claire led 5-2 through four innings.

While Green Bay was struggling to get runners aboard, the Express tacked on one run in the sixth and again in the seventh to extend the lead to 7-2.

The Bullfrogs went down in order in six innings on Wednesday, while only managing one base runner in the third and the seventh innings.

The loss went to Acker (0-1). Stanwyck allowed one earned in three innings, and Woodcock gave up one earned in 4.2 innings.

The win went to Eau Claire's Devin Moore (4-3).

The Bullfrogs are now 32-34 on the season overall, with four more games to play.
