Green Bay Rockers News Release
After five scoreless innings between Lakeshore and Green Bay, the Bullfrogs were able to finally get their first couple hits of the game. Those two hits led to a three run inning in which they batted through the order.
Jack Parenty (Stony Brook) came in to the game late in the 5th inning in part of a double switch. On the move, Mitch Ghelfi (UW-Milwaukee) moved to first base and Charlie Coghlin (Des Moines Area Community) exited the game. Parenty finished with a 2-2 night with two singles and a run scored. Bryant Burleson (Texas Tech) drove in the first run of the night with a single to left field, which then led to a passed ball from Adam Meyer (Arkansas) that scored Trevin Sonnier (TCU).
Four Bullfrogs manned the mound tonight throwing nine shutout innings after pitching 11 shutout innings last night at Kapco Park. Matt Esparza (Tennessee) pitched five strong innings striking out five and only giving up three hits. Matt Freeman (St. Norberts) then came in in relief for Esparza and pitch two strong innings striking out two batters as well. Michael Fain (Nevada) and Johnathon Tripp (Texas Tech) would come in to pitch the last two innings where they each gave up a hit and struck out two batters.
Green Bay will take on Madison tomorrow in game one of a two game set with first pitch scheduled for 1:05. Come out to Joannes stadium for Family Fun in the SUNdays presented by Pizza Ranch with Star 98, as well as another day of our Magnet Schedule Giveaway presented by Zero in Wisconsin.
