August 10, 2015 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Green Bay Rockers News Release
Green Bay, Wis.- The Green Bay Bullfrogs were defeated 3-2 by the Madison Mallards in the first round of the Northwoods League Playoffs on Monday night at Warner Park.
The Bullfrogs finished their season with an overall record of 41-31, as Madison moves on to the second round of the playoffs.
After the Bullfrogs were retired in order to begin the game, Anthony Gonsolin led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run over the left-field fence for his team-leading 12th homer of the season.
The Bullfrogs came back to tie the game at 1 in the top of the fourth. With Brian Celsi at first base, Danny Rosenbaum singled down the right-field line. Gonsolin's throw to second was offline, which allowed Celsi to score.
Radue exited in the fourth with runners at the corners with nobody out and was replaced by Jeremy Graf.
Radue picked up his only loss of the season in three innings pitched and allowed three runs on six hits and three walks with a strikeout.
Graf's wild pitch allowed Cameron Frost to score and give the Mallards a 2-1 lead. Chris Tschida hit a line-drive sacrifice fly to left, and Robb Paller's throw home was late as Jonathan Quintana scored.
Graf threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings on three hits and two walks with a strikeout. He was replaced by Jake Stolley with runners at the corners and two outs in the seventh. Stolley struck out Frost to end the threat.
Logan Taylor led off the top of the eighth with a single and advanced to third on a pair of stolen bases. With two outs, Rosenbaum knocked in a run with a single to right-center, and the Bullfrogs cut the deficit to one.
A.J. Bogucki struck out the side in the ninth, as the Bullfrogs suffered the season-ending loss.
