Green Bay Rockers News Release
Green Bay, Wis. - The Bullfrogs took a tough loss at the hands of the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters tonight as Jake Lumley sent the Bullfrogs home after 10 innings with a walk off home run. This loss brings the Bullfrogs early record to 1-1.
Luke Lind got the start for the Bullfrogs and picked up where previous night's starter Mike Ellenbest left off. Lind finished the night hurling six innings, giving up only one run on four hits. The Bullfrogs began the scoring with last night's hero Hunter Owen. The right fielder belted a deep home run to left field in the top of the fourth to tie the ballgame up at one. In the following inning, the Bullfrogs score another run off the bat of Chris Botsoe.
The score would remain 2-1 until the bottom of the eighth inning. With 1 out in the inning, Woodcock hit a fly ball to left field. The left fielder Castillo was unable to handle the fly ball and Woodcock found himself on second base while Lumley went to third after starting the inning with a base hit. Gunter, who was on the mound, got Fisher to ground out to a diving Greco and then struck out Cromwell for two outs. Skip Handelsman made a pitching change bringing in righty Jeremy Graf. Graf got Calabrese to hit a ground ball to Shoemaker, who was unable to make the play, the tying run scored.
As we entered the bottom of the 10th, Connor Jackson came on to pitch for the Bullfrogs. His outing didn't last long as Jake Lumley sent the first pitch of the inning over the center field fence to win the ballgame for the Rafters.
Keaton Graf picked up the win for the Rafters, and Jackson took the loss for the Bullfrogs.
