
Bullfrogs Drop First Game of Two Game Home Series 11-1

Green Bay, Wis. - The Bullfrogs fell to 1-2 on the season after a tough loss at the hands of the Kenosha Kingfish. The ballgame was in reach through seven innings of play but a nine run 8th inning was the Bullfrogs undoing.
Austin Hancock got the start for the Bullfrogs and followed up Lind's strong performance with a great performance himself. The right hander threw five innings and struck out seven Kingfish. Peter Castillo took the ball next and pitched two perfect frames, not allowing any base runners.
As the Bullfrogs headed into the 8th inning, Nick Winston made his first appearance for the Bullfrogs. The inning started with a base hit by Pete Shuler. Cullen Jozwiak then laid down a sacrifice bunt that was thrown away by Nick Winston. With runners at first and second, Matt Hearn bunted the ball to the third baseman Greco and Greco threw the ball past the covering Shoemaker at first. One run scored, runners moved to second and third. Winston proceeded to walk the next batter, Skip Handelsman came out to the mound a brought on Matt McCarthy to pitch. McCarthy was only able to record one out before being replaced by Brendan Meissner. Nine runs scored in that inning before the third out was recorded.
The offense was once again stagnant. The Bullfrogs only mustered six hits and scoring one run off an RBI single by Zach Biermann in the bottom of the 9th. Charlie Hecht had the start for the Kingfish and going seven innings, not allowing a single run.
Mistakes in the field and quiet bats were the achilles heel for the Bullfrogs as they now move to 1-2 on the season. The Kingfish remain undefeated, picking up their 3rd win.
The Bullfrogs will be back in action tomorrow night to face the Kenosha Kingfish. First pitched of game slated for 7:05pm. Fans come out to Joannes as 107.5 The Fan presents The Working Man Special.
