Bulldogs Lose to London

HAMILTON, ONTARIO. The Hamilton Bulldogs had few answers for the defending Memorial Cup Champions as the London Knights walked into FirstOntario Centre Sunday afternoon and left with a 7-2 win.

A sign of things to come came at the :32 second mark of the first period when Knights forward Sam Miletic opened the scoring. London added two more before the period was done including the second of the afternoon by Miletic, this one coming on a penalty shot.

The Knights continued the offense in the second period with a power play goal at 1:54 and increased their lead to 5-0 at 9:19. After only three shots in the first, the Bulldogs put ten shots on the London net.

Hamilton's starting goalie Kaden Fulcher was pulled for Cole Ceci midway through the second period with the score 5-0.

After opening up a 6-0 lead early in the third, Bulldogs fans finally had something to cheer about as Captain Justin Lemcke (2) scored at 11:59. On the power-play Brandon Saigeon (2) cut the London lead to 6-2. The Knights got one more on the power play late to make the final score 7-2.

Final shots on goal favoured the Knights 28-21.

The loss was the Bulldogs first in regulation time on home ice this season and drops their regular season record to 7-4-1-0.

Hamilton is on the road for their next three games, Saturday October 29th in Ottawa, Sunday October 30th in Kingston and then Wednesday November 3rd in St. Catharines against the Niagara Ice Dogs.

They're back on home ice Friday November 4th when they host the Peterborough Petes at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30.
