Brantford Bulldogs News Release
HAMILTON, ONTARIO. A four-minute span in the 3rd period proved to be the difference Wednesday night as the hometown Peterborough Petes skated to a 6-3 win over the Bulldogs.
Both teams had little success generating offense early, but the Bulldogs managed to take a 2-1 lead in the 1st period on goals from Jan Jenik (3) and Kade Landry (6).
While on a power-play to start the 2nd, the Bulldogs gave up a short-handed goal only to see Arthur Kaliyev (36) fire a one-timer on the power-play to give the Bulldogs the lead back at 3-2. However, Peterborough scored late to send the two teams to the dressing rooms tied 3-3.
The Petes then caught fire in the 3rd and scored three unanswered goals in just under four minutes to take the 6-3 win.
With the Hamilton loss and Peterborough win, the Bulldogs, Petes and Mississauga are tied with 50 points in the tight Eastern Conference standings.
3 STARS:
1) Christopher Paquette (PBO) 2) Ryan Merkley (PBO) 3) Kade Landry (HAM)
The Bulldogs return home Saturday, February 2nd when they host the Erie Otters at FirstOntario Center at 4 pm.
