
Bulldogs Beat Battalion in Overtime

NORTH BAY, Ontario - Connor Walters scored the overtime winner as the Hamilton Bulldogs (22-30-7-0) edged the North Bay Battalion (30-18-5-4) 3-2 on Wednesday night at the North Bay Memorial Gardens.
Matt Luff opened the scoring for the Bulldogs 5:38 into the first period with his 22nd of the season. The power play goal was setup by Trent Fox and Niki Petti.
North Bay tied it up just 23 seconds later as Matthew Santos netted his 25th on the year off a Mike Amadio pass.
The Battalion took the lead just over three minutes later with a power play goal from Mike Amadio. Cam Dineen picked up the assist on Amadio's 43rd of the campaign.
In the second period Hamilton tied it up with a quick passing play on the power play. Connor Walters and Matt Luff positioned the puck to the front of the net for Niki Petti to score his 21st of the year.
Hamilton grabbed the lead when Mackenzie Entwistle tipped in a Jack Hanley point shot at 8:46 of the period.
The Battalion tied it up at 14:26 of the third period as Brett Hargrave collected his 8th of the year with Steve Harland picking up the assist.
In overtime, Niki Petti quickly gained the offensive zone and fed the puck to Connor Walters at the point. Walters made a swift move and then snapped a shot in to end the game just 34 seconds into overtime.
Hamilton will be back at home on Saturday, February 27 to take on the North Bay Battalion. Puck drop is set for 7:00p.m.
