
Buffalo's John Tavares Named Overall Player Of The Week

BUFFALO, NY (April 8, 2009) --- The National Lacrosse League announced today that Buffalo Bandits forward John Tavares has been named the Overall Player of the Week after scoring a game-high nine points (6+3) in Buffalo's 15-11 victory over the Boston Blazers last Saturday.
Tavares scored seven (5+2) of his season-high nine points in the first half of Saturday's game which guaranteed Buffalo a playoff appearance for the seventh-straight season. The six-goal performance made Tavares the second Bandit to eclipse the 40-goal plateau (Mark Steenhuis) on the year. Tavares now has 77 points (42+35) on the season.
