
Bucs Ring in New Year with Win at Sioux Falls

The Des Moines Buccaneers closed the 2023 calendar year with a bang! The Buccaneers went into Sioux Falls and claimed a convincing 6-2 victory, capping a stretch of three games in four days with a win.
The Buccaneers saw a pair of first period goals from Ashton Dahms (Uncommitted // Lakeville, MN) and Liam Watkins (Nebraska-Omaha // Okotoks, AB).
Sioux Falls scored early in the second period to make it a 2-1 game, a score that held until the third.
Des Moines lit up the scoreboard with four goals in the third to secure two points in the Western Conference standings.
Jack Kernan (Minnesota State // Maple Grove, MN) scored twice in the third, totaling three goals on the weekend. Affiliate forward Jacob Jastrzebski (Uncommitted) scored his first USHL goal. Nate Delladonna (Penn State // Brewerton, NY) picked up his second of the season with an emptynetter.
Ethan Dahlmeir (Miami // Lakeville, MN) made 35 saves in the win, his 9th of the season.
Des Moines opens the 2024 calendar visiting the top-ranked team in the Western Conference, the Fargo Force, on January 5th and 6th. Games will be broadcast by Fargo on FloHockey ($).
