Bucs Acquire Boston College Commit TJ Walsh from Cedar Rapids
May 10, 2018 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Des Moines Buccaneers News Release
GM Tom Mannino continues to assemble the pieces in preparation for an exciting first season in Des Moines. The Buccaneers have acquired forward and Boston College commit TJ Walsh (2000) in return for affiliate goaltender Christian Stoever (2000).
"When the opportunity arose to acquire TJ, we couldn't pass it up." Mannino said "Adding someone with TJ's experience, character, and skill set is something that we believe as an organization will help to right the ship in our pursuit of success for Buccaneers hockey."
TJ brings with him two years of USHL experience with Cedar Rapids. The BC commit was invited to the USA NTDP 40-man camp and was a USHL Tender by the RoughRiders in 2016. As a Bantam player at the prestigious Shattuck St. Mary's, Walsh pumped home 71 goals in 66 games played.
"I can't wait to join such a storied organization as the Des Moines Buccaneers, Walsh said. "I'm looking forward to getting things started for a winning season!"
