
Bucky Blasts Smokies to Series Opening Win

Mobile, Ala.- Bucky Jacobsen hit two game tying home runs and John Novinsky earned his first Double A win as Tennessee (28-18, 63-53) opened a 12-game road trip with a 4-3 win over Mobile (23-24, 52-63) Friday night at Hank Aaron Stadium.
Jacobsen's solo homer off R.D. Spiehs (0-1) to lead off the 7th inning tied the game at 3. Papo Bolivar followed with a single and was sacrificed to second. The Smokies stolen base leader swiped third and scored on a game winning sacrifice fly by Yadier Molina.
John Novinsky (1-0) worked 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to pick up his first Double A victory.
Mobile pushed two runs across against Juan Pena over the first three innings before Tennessee tied the game at two in the 4th when Jacobsen followed a Kevan Burns single with his a two-run homer to left field off BayBears starter Justin Germano.
The four-game series continues Saturday night with an 8:35 ET start at Hank Aaron Stadium. Pat Collins (0-0, 6.23) will make his second start for the Smokies, while All-Star Cory Stewart (11-6, 3.49) toes the rubber for Mobile.
Tennessee made a roster move following Thursday night's game against Carolina, acquiring OF Jesse Roman from High A Palm Beach and placing OF Scott Krause on the disabled list.
