The Bucks, who lead the CHL with 38 points, have a short turnaround as they prepare to face Austin tonight. Laredo suffered their worst loss last night since January 29, 2005 when they lost in Memphis 8-0.
Last night the Bucks fell behind early en route to a 6-0 loss at the hands of Odessa. The Jackalopes scored once in the first, twice in the second, and three times in the third to hand Laredo the loss. Two of the 'Jacks third period goals were short-handed, empty-net goals as the Bucks pulled goaltender Dustin Traylen in favor of an extra-attacker.
Traylen suffered the loss in net stopping 27 shots.
The Bucks, who were outshot 33-25, were 0-8 on the power-play, dropping them to just a 13% success rate, and ranking them 16th in the CHL.
Jeff Bes leads the Bucks in scoring with 37 points (14-23=37), and is tied for fifth in the CHL with Odessa's Sebastian Thinel.
Kevin Beech is tentatively scheduled to start in net tonight for Laredo. Beech is 7-1-1 with a league-leading 1.72 goals against average, and a .928 save percentage.
Austin comes into tonight having lost five of their last six games, including three straight.
The Ice Bats are led in scoring by Jamie Thompson (9-9=18), Jason Tessier (8-10=18), and Brendan Cook (7-11=18), who all have registered 18 points.
Miguel Beaudry has done the majority of the goaltending for Austin, going 4-11, with a 3.82 goals against average, and a .893 save percentage.
The Bucks beat the Ice Bats 4-1 last Wednesday at the LEC.
Also tonight the Bucks will unveil their new Third Jersey, which the team will wear periodically throughout the season.
The family four pack is still available for $48. The family four pack consists of four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas. Buck fans can take advantage of merchandise slashing until after tomorrow's game at the team store. Season ticket holders will receive 25% off all merhandise, while non-season ticket holders will receive 15% off.
Tonight Bucks fans have the opportunity to win $5,000 in prizes with the Bucks Prize Hunt. For full details please visit www.laredobucks.com.
