LAREDO, Texas â The Laredo Bucks picked up five of eight points over the past week. The Bucks beat Rio Grande Valley 3-1 on Thursday. On Friday the Bucks lost 3-2 in a shootout to Lubbock. Saturday night the Bucks lost 5-3 at Austin. This Wednesday the Bucks rebounded with a 6-4 win over Austin at the LEC. Laredo is on the road this weekend. Friday night the Bucks are in Bossier-Shreveport and then Saturday they finish the two game road trip at Memphis. HELP A FALLEN SOLDIER
· The Bucks will have a memorial game in honor of Juan Rodriguez on February 5th when they host the Corpus Christi Rayz. The Bucks will sell red, white and blue bracelets for $2 with all profits from the sale of the bracelets being donated to the Juan Rodrigo Rodriguez fund. Southern Sanitation will donate $250 for every Bucks goal during the game. People can donate to the Juan Rodrigo Rodriguez fund, account number #51803452, at any LNB location in Laredo.

BUCKS VERSUS UPCOMING OPPONENTS
BOSSIER-SHREVEPORT MUDBUGS · This is the second of two meetings this year between the teams. The Bucks lost 3-2 to BOS in a shootout on November 11th at the LEC.
2003-04: The Bucks were 1-2-0 against Bossier-Shreveport last year in the regular season. Laredo was 1-1-0 at home and 0-1-0 on the road. The Mudbugs were one of three teams that defeated the Bucks at the LEC (RGV and AMA being the others). Bossier ended the Laredo's CHL-record 21-game home win streak with a 4-1 victory on March 9th. In the playoffs the two teams met in the President's Cup Finals. The Mudbugs took a 3-1 series lead, but the Bucks rallied to win the series in seven games. All-time Laredo is 2-4-1 against the Mudbugs, including 2-2-1 at home in the regular season.
· MEMPHIS RIVERKINGS · The Bucks beat Memphis 5-1 at the LEC on November 20th. This is the second of two meetings.
2003-04: Laredo went 1-0-0 against Memphis last year. The Bucks are 3-1-0 all-time against the RiverKings, including 1-1-0 in Memphis.
TOUGH SCORING STRETCH
· The Bucks had scored just 17 goals in the last nine games, until erupting for six goals on Wednesday against Austin. It was the most goals scored for the Bucks since they tallied eight against RGV on December 18th.
BUCKS OUTSHOOTING
· The Bucks have out shot nine of the last 10 opponents. The only team they did not out shoot during this stretch was Colorado on 01/15 (35-22).
WELCOME TO THE TEAM
· Mark Wires made his Laredo debut last Thursday night. He was assigned by San Antonio of the AHL and had two assists in the game at RGV, then added another one against LUB Friday night, and another on Saturday night in Austin. His modest three game point streak ended on Wednesday against Austin.
TOUGH HOME STRETCH ENDS
· Going into Wednesday's game the Bucks had tied a franchise record by being winless in three straight games. The string came to an end with a 6-4 win over AUS. The Bucks were winless in three straight at home earlier this year.
NO PRESSURE FELLAS, BUT...
· Laredo is 13-5-0 this year in games that either forwards Jeff Bes or Brent Cullaton score a goal.
LONG ROAD AHEAD
· Out of the Bucks remaining 25 games, 13 will be on the road.
GREAT PENALTY KILL WORK
· The Bucks killed off all 14 Austin power play chances on Wednesday. This tied a Bucks franchise record for shorthanded chances in a game. Previously the most penalties the Bucks had to kill in a single game this season was 11 against Bossier-Shreveport on 11/11.

· 01/26/05 â WEDNESDAY â The defending CHL Champion Laredo Bucks held on for a 6-5 win over the Austin Ice Bats in front of 6,817 fans in a matinee game at the Laredo Entertainment Center. Bucks forward Scott Kelman had a pair of goals as Laredo broke a franchise record tying three game home winless streak. Laredo was tremendous on the penalty kill as they stopped all 14 Austin power play chances. The Bucks are 18-15-2 with 38 points and third in the Southeast Division. Jeremy Symington stopped 21 of 26 shots to get the win and improve to 11-6-1. Matt Barnes allowed six goals on 43 shots and fell to 15-9-1.

· 01/22/05 â SATURDAY â The Austin Ice Bats scored a late power play goal to beat the defending CHL Champion Laredo Bucks 5-3 at the Bat Cave in front of 6,031 fans. Ice Bats forward Chris Richards scored with just 11 seconds to go to win the game for Austin. The Bucks are 17-15-2 with 36 points and remain in third place in the Southeast Division. Guerrera allowed four goals on 30 shots and fell to 7-9-1. Matt Barnes stopped 31 of 34 shots to improve to 15-8-1.

· 01/21/05 â FRIDAY â The defending CHL Champion Laredo Bucks lost a 3-2 shootout decision to the Lubbock Cotton Kings in front of 5,741 fans at the Laredo Entertainment Center. Former Bucks goalie Lance Leslie stopped 32 of 34 shots to get the win for the Cotton Kings. The Bucks do pick up a standings point to creep to within two points of second place in the Southeast Division at 17-14-2. Leslie beat the Bucks for the second time this season and improved to 15-8-2. Bucks goalie Jeremy Symington stopped 21 of 23 shots but took the hard luck loss to fall to 10-6-1.

· 01/20/05 â THURSDAY â The defending CHL Champion Laredo Bucks snapped a four game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at the Dodge Arena. Three different players scored as the Bucks improved to 17-14-1 and with 35 points remain in third place in the Southeast Division. David Guerrera stopped 16 of 17 shots to get the win and improve to 7-8-1. Jeff Levy gave up three goals on 26 shots and fell to 10-17-0.
