Bucks Fall to Americans 4-2

LAREDO, TX: The Laredo Bucks, of the Central Hockey League, fell to the Allen Americans 4-2.
The Laredo Bucks and the Allen Americans battled for the final time during the regular season Friday night in Laredo. The last time the two teams met Laredo shut-out the Americans 5-0.
Laredo was the first team to light the lamp at 6:31 in the first period. AJ Hau shot the puck through the netminders legs, giving the Bucks a 1-0 lead. Ryan Sparling and David Inman assisted on the goal. Just over a minute later, the Americans Colton Yellow Horn put in a rebound tying the game 1-1. Allen jumped on the board once again at 11:33, when Jeff Martens found the puck on the goal line and tapped it in. The opening frame came to a close with the Bucks trailing the Americans 2-1. Allen outshot the Bucks 16-9 in the first.
The Bucks would have three powerplay opportunities during the middle frame, but would not be able put the puck into the net. Allen would make the score 3-1 at 5:03, when Brent Clouthier scored for the Americans. The Bucks outshot the Allen 14-11 in the second period.
The Bucks would try and make a comeback in the final period of play. AJ Hau passed the puck through the crease, leaving it on the doorstep for Matt Boyd to tap in at 7:30 in the period. David Inman would also assist on the goal that closed the gap to 3-2. Coach Dube pulled Ryan Rondeau from his net at 18:58, to gain an extra attacker on the ice. But, Allen would seal the win with an empty net goal with six seconds to play, making the score 4-2.
The Bucks now travel to North Richland Hills to play the Texas Brahmas tomorrow night, before returning home to play their final regular season game Sunday, March 11th, versus the Arizona Sundogs at 4pm.
