Bucks Fall In OT 4-3

ALLEN, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League fell to the Allen Americans 4-3 in overtime Saturday night at the Allen Event Center. The Bucks picked up a point in the loss as they fall to 13-10-7 (33 points). Laredo's winless streak is extended to seven games with the defeat (0-4-3).

Nathan O'Nabigon scored the game-winner for Allen 3:42 into overtime as he hammered in a slap shot from the top of the right circle.

Chris Whitley stopped 31 of 34 shots for the Americans to pick up his league-leading 16th win of the season. Pier Pelletier set aside 36 of 40 shots to suffer the loss.

With the game tied at 2-2 in the third period Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel gave the Bucks a 3-2 lead with 6:27 left in the game. The strike was Dieude-Fauvel's fourth of the year and his second against the Americans.

Sean Perkins tied the game at 3-3 with just 3:30 left in the third period as he scored off of a slap shot from the point.

The Bucks fall to 0-3 in overtime this season, including 0-2 against Allen.

The Americans (22-7-2) jumped in front of the Bucks 1-0 when they struck on the power-play 10:24 into the game. Justin Bowers scored on a wrist shot from the top of the right circle to pick up his team-leading 14th goal of the season.

The Bucks outshot the Americans in the first period 13-8.

Laredo scored two goals in 1:24 to take a 2-1 lead late in the second period.

Evan Schwabe tied the game at 1-1 with 4:26 left in the period when scored from the slot on the power-play. The goal was Schwabe's 10 of the season as he has scored a point in six of the Bucks last eight games.

The Bucks took a 2-1 lead just 1:24 later when Eric Giosa jammed in a rebound right in front of the Allen net. The tally was Giosa's seventh of the season.

Allen would battle back to tie the game at 2-2 with just 1:26 left in the second when Ryan Fairbarn tipped in a shot from the point on the power-play.

The Bucks outshot the Americans 15-14 in the second period but were outshot in the game 40-34.

Laredo went 2-for-five on the power-play and are 5-for-33 in their last five games with the man advantage.

The Bucks played with only 14 skaters for the second straight game as Curtis Billsten (lower-body injury) and Mike Looby (upper body injury) were scratched. Billsten missed his fourth straight game while Looby missed his second straight.
