Bucks Defeat Woodchucks in Final Game 11-6

WATERLOO-August 14, 2011-The Wisconsin Woodchucks led the Waterloo Bucks 2-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth, but they could not hold on as they lost their final game of the season, 11-6.
The Waterloo Bucks capitalized on an error to get a run in the bottom of the first. With one out, Jeremy Lucas bounced a ball towards third that took a bad hop on Derek Peterson, allowing Lucas to reach. After a Cameron Perkins double, Jordan Adams drove a ball to right field that scored Lucas, giving the Bucks a 1-0 lead.
The score stayed 1-0 until the top of the fourth, when the Woodchucks got on the board for the first time. Derek Peterson led the inning off with a single, and scored when Gabe Feldman beat out a possible double-play ball at first, tying the game up at one and giving Feldman his first RBI. Peterson finished the game 3-5 with three runs scored, his second consecutive three-hit game.
The Woodchucks came right back in the top of the fifth, getting on the scoreboard for the second consecutive inning. With the bases loaded and one out, Cody Regis, the runner on second, intentionally got caught in a run-down, and when the Bucks threw to second base, Carlos Escobar, Jr., scored, Regis went to second, and Garrett Yrigoyen went to second, as the Woodchuck executed a triple steal.
The Bucks took the lead back in the bottom of the sixth. With Adair Robles on the mound in relief of Justin Burns, the Bucks scored two runs without having a well-hit ball. The only two hits in the innings were choppers that leaked through the infield for base hits. With the bases loaded and one out, Andrew Ewing barely beat out a double-play ball at first, allowing Kahtan Al-Kaissy to score from third, and Thomas Lindauer scored all the way from second on the ground out, giving the Bucks a 3-2 lead.
Waterloo came to the plate in the seventh looking for insurance runs, and they got exactly that. The Bucks scored five runs on four hits and three errors by the Woodchucks, putting the Woodchucks down 8-2.
The 'Chucks picked up two runs in the top of the eighth on four hits, cutting the Buck lead to four. Woodchuck pitchers Gabe Feldman, Ryan Iverson, and Anthony Drobnick went a combined 2-3 at the plate in the inning, with two RBI's in the inning.
Danny Susdorf, an outfielder for the Woodchucks pitched the eighth and allowed three runs to the Bucks on four singles as the Bucks took an 11-4 lead.
The Woodchucks scored two runs in the ninth, but it would not be enough, as they lost to the Bucks, 11-6. The Woodchucks finished the year with a 24-46 record, and the Bucks finished 33-37.
