Bucks All-Stars Key In South's 11-6 Win

BROOMFIELD, CO- The Southern Conference beat the Northern Conference 11-6 Wednesday night in the 2008 Central Hockey League All-Star game in front of 4,640 fans at the Rocky Mountain Rage's Broomfield Event Center Wednesday night.

With the win the South picked up their second win against the North in the all-star game since the CHL and WPHL merged prior to the 2001-2002 season.

All three Laredo all-stars contributed to the South's win, as Jeff Bes picked up two assists for the Southern Conference, while goaltender Dustin Traylen set aside 13 of 14 North shots in picking up the win in net. Serge Dube was a plus-two for the South.

Arizona's Alex Leavitt picked up the Southern Conference MVP award, as he scored a hat trick and handed out two assists, while the Sundogs Tyler Redenbach scored a goal, and handed out five assists to lead the South.

The South jumped out to a 3-1 after the first period, with Leavitt, and Redenbach, scoring goals, along with Amarillo's Nate Fornataro lighting the lamp. Rocky Mountain's Scott Wray scored for the North in the first period.

Traylen stopped 13 of 14 North shots he faced in the first 20 minutes, notching the best save percentage of all six goaltenders that played.

The North cut the South's lead to 6-5 after two periods, as they scored four second period goals.

The Rage's Brent Cullaton, Tulsa's Warren McCutcheon, Oklahoma City's Mike Burgoyne, and Youngstown's Chris Richards tallied goals in the second period for the North.

Leavitt, New Mexico's Vladimir Hartinger, and Rio Grande Valley's Travis Banga netted goals for the South in the second period.

The South put the game away in the third period as they outscored the North 5-1, with Leavitt picking up his hat trick, while Austin's Jason Tessier, Odessa's Sebastien Thinel, and Dominic Leveille, and New Mexico's Konrad Reeder scored for the Southern Conference.

Bes's two assists came on Thinel's and Leveille's goals in the third period.

The North outshot the South 56-50.

On Thursday morning Bes, Dube, and Traylen will fly to Oklahoma City to meet up with the rest of the Bucks.

Laredo will be have a three in three this weekend. The Bucks will play Friday night in Oklahoma City (7:35pm), Saturday night in Austin (5:08pm), and will host Corpus Christi on Sunday afternoon at 4pm.

**Bucks Games To Air On 94.9-FM The Works Starting Friday**

The Bucks games will now be broadcasted on 94.9 the Works, starting with Friday night's game in Oklahoma City.

The switch is due to a transmitter problem with the Bucks regular radio station, Norteno 1490-AM.

All games that air on 94.9 The Works will keep the same format, starting with the 20 minute pre-game show.

The games will be aired on 94.9 for the immediate future until the transmitter is fixed, which could be 2-4 weeks.

**LEC's Two Millionth Customer Will Be Sunday**

The 2 millionth LEC customer will be a Laredo Bucks customer/fan THIS coming Sunday when the Bucks take on Corpus Christi at 4pm.

The two millionth customer will receive a $1,000 ticket voucher from the LEC to be used on any LEC/Laredo Bucks show in 2008. (upon availability).

All people attending Sunday's game will be asked to enter the main entrance until the winner is selected, so arrive early to avoid any delays into the arena.

The two millionth customer and their guests will be escorted upstairs where they will get a free suite, sodas and a free buffet dinner.
