Visalia, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino dropped the second game of a three-game set at Visalia 5-2 in which Diamondbacks RHP Clay Buchholz (1-0) was the winning pitcher for the Rawhide allowing two runs in six innings of work. Visalia (49-49, 12-16) struck out 11 Inland Empire batters while walking just one as the Rawhide evened the series at a game apiece and are now 7-5 against the Sixers.

Inland Empire (47-51, 14-14) took a 1-0 lead in the second against Diamondbacks righty Clay Buchholz on an injury rehab assignment. After Buchholz got two outs on two pitches in the frame David MacKinnon lashed a double to left and Julian Leon followed with one of his own for the lead. Visalia answered right back in the bottom of the second against Sixers starter Adrian De Horta when with one on base Drew Ellis tagged a two-run homer to left for a 2-1 lead; it was Ellis' 11th homer of the year. Later in the frame Jason Morozowski drilled a solo homer, his second, for a 3-1 advantage. The Rawhide led 4-1 with Buchholz (1-0) still in the game in the sixth when Inland Empire RF Brandon Marsh smoked a solo shot to left for his third homer with the Sixers and a 4-2 score. The Rawhide however added an insurance run in the ninth and to win it 5-2. Jonah Todd's 13-game hit streak ended in the loss for Inland Empire. Tommy Eveld notched his 12th save for Visalia. Buchholz (oblique) tossed 6.0IP allowing four hits, two earned runs, one walk and struck out six.
