Brutley joins Greyhounds

WHEELING, WV – The Ohio Valley Greyhounds of the United Indoor Football Association are proud to announce the signing of Daryon Brutley (5-11, 187, Northern Iowa).

Brutley, a defensive back from Northern Iowa, is expected to bring a wealth talent as well as experience to the Greyhound's defensive backfield. Following his career at UNI, Brutley was signed as an undrafted free agent by the NFL's Buffalo Bills in 2002. Daryon was then later signed by the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles where he recorded an assisted tackle during his rookie year in 2003. After his time with the Eagles, Brutley was drafted as the first pick in the third round by the NFL Europe's Berlin Thunder. While in Berlin, Daryon recorded 20 tackles as well as a team high 2 interceptions. Daryon most recent stop was with the Arena Football leagues Carolina Cobras where he recorded 19 tackles as well as breaking up 4 passes.

A transfer from Southern Mississippi, Brutley was a standout cornerback for the Northern Iowa Panthers of the Missouri Valley Conference. He was a Second-Team All-Missouri Conference selection in 2001, leading the Panthers to a 9-2 record.
