
Bruins sweep Wings

The Austin Bruins wrapped up the final series against the Aberdeen Wings at the Odde Center on Saturday night. The Bruins are had a solid first frame as Nolan Kirley dropped his mittens to spar with Mike Parnell on his 20th Birthday. Austin was able to get some momentum from the fight but could not beat netminder Ried Mimmack. The Bruins outshot Aberdeen 12-8 in the first period. The second period Jeremy Finger scored his 9th goal of the season. The Wings answered back with a goal that was created by Mike Parnell. The Bruins regained the lead with a John Kirby goal as the Big Rig muscled one past the goal line. At the end of two periods of play Austin led 2-1. The third period Charlie Adams added a shorthanded goal assisting was AJ Reid. The Wings answered back and scored two unanswered goals. Chase McDonald silenced 1400 fans when he netted the game winner, assisting was Nolan Kirley and Chris Fischer. The Bruins swept the Wings with a 5-4 victory.
