
Bruins outshot by Blizzard

Austin Bruins News Release
The Austin Bruins wrapped up their road trip against the Alexandria Blizzard at the Runestone Community Center. The Blizzard started the scoring early in the opening frame. The Blizzard added two more in the first six minutes of play. The Bruins answered back as Brandon Wahlin scored on a breakaway making it a 3-1 contest. At the first intermission the Bruins trailed 3-1. Period number two the Bruins continued to battle but could not slide one past Jake Myers. Alexandria put one in with less than a minute remaining in the period making it 4-1. The Blizzard outshot Austin 27-21 after two periods of play. The final frame the Bruins started the period with a fight as Jeremy Finger spared with Rodney Lalonde, Finger won the battle giving the Bruins the momentum. The Bruins took the momentum from the fight and beat Jake Myers. CJ Smith was the goal getter assists went to Jon Gehrt and Illya Arkalov. The Blizzard answered right back making it 5-2 Alexandria which was the final. The Bruins were outshot 40-30. Austin will battle Alexandria next weekend at the Runestone Community Center log onto Fast Hockey.com and AM 1480 KAUS.
