
Bruins Make Deal with Moose Jaw

Chilliwack Bruins News Release
The Chilliwack Bruins have acquired 20 year old defenceman Brett Ward and 20 year old forward Evan Fuller from the Moose Jaw Warriors in exchange for 18 year old forward Brayden Metz, a 6th round selection in the 2009 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft, and a 5th round selection in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft.
"We're a very young team right now and we felt we needed to add a little more experience to our lineup," said Bruins General Manager Darrell May. "In addition to experience, we expect both Brett and Evan to bring leadership ability to our hockey team and play significant roles with us as we move forward."
"We would like to thank Brayden Metz for his efforts with the Bruins and wish him all the best with the Warriors."
Both Ward and Fuller are expected to be in the line up on Friday when the Bruins host the Prince Albert Raiders.
Brett Ward - Defence
DOB: 10/12/88 Hometown: Swift Current, SK Height: 6'0 Weight: 194 Shoots: L
Ward was selected by the Saskatoon Blades in the second round (34th overall) of the 2003 WHL Bantam Draft. After playing four games with the Blades during the 2004-05 season, the Swift Current Saskatchewan native joined the Blades full time for the 2005-06 season. In two seasons with the Blades, he scored five goals and added 22 assists. He was traded to Moose Jaw prior to the 2007-08 season. In 71 games with the Warriors last season, he tallied two goals and added 16 assists.
Evan Fuller - Forward
DOB: 07/01/88 Hometown: Williams Lake, BC Height: 6'2 Weight: 195 Shoots: R
Fuller was selected by the Prince George Cougars in the third round (44th overall) of the 2003 WHL Bantam Draft. Fuller played 208 games with the Cougars before being traded to Moose Jaw part way through the 2007-08 season. In his WHL career, Fuller has appeared in 247 regular season games, scoring 23 goals, 36 assists and totalling 297 minutes in penalties.
