AUSTIN, MN - For the third time in the 2015-16 season, the Bruins completed a weekend sweep of the Aberdeen Wings as they rolled to a 4-1 win on Saturday night at Riverside Arena.
The Bruins took the lead at 1:58 of the opening period when Michael Piehler ripped in a powerplay goal from Paul O'Connor and Miha Zajc. Aberdeen's Tucker DeYoung answered with a powerplay goal of his own at 7:16 to the game but just over a minute later, defenseman Paul O'Connor scored his first goal since September 23rd to restore the lead. Before the end of the period, Gilbert Gabor converted on another powerplay, making it 3-1.
Like Friday, neither team scored in the 2nd period and Justin Misiak sealed the game in the 3rd with an empty netter. Jacob Paganelli had two assists and Robbie Goor stopped 24 shots for his fourth win of the season. The Bruins play a home-and-home with the Brookings Blizzard next weekend, starting Friday at Riverside.
