BURLINGTON, VT --- The Brooklyn Cyclones led the Vermont Lake Monsters 8-7 with one out and two runners aboard in the bottom of the 12th inning when the New York-Penn League game was suspended due to rain Saturday night at historic Centennial Field. The game will resume at 1:05 pm on Sunday afternoon before the regularly-scheduled game between the two teams.
The Lake Monsters rallied from a 5-2 deficit to take a 6-5 lead with two runs in the sixth and seventh innings. Jason Martinson cut the deficit to 5-4 with a two-run triple in the sixth, then Vermont tied the game on a David Freitas RBI single and took the lead on a Ronnie LaBrie sacrifice fly. Brooklyn retook the lead in the eighth on a Joe Bonfe two-run homer, but Vermont again tied the game in the bottom of the eighth inning when Wade Moore scored on a wild pitch.
The game stayed tied until the 12th when Vermont reliever Dustin Crane walked Wilfredo Tovar to lead off the inning, uncorked two wild pitches and then Tovar scored on a Justin Schafer sacrifice fly. In the bottom of the 12th, Moore led off with a walk and was erased when forced at second on a Martinson bunt attempt. Martinson moved to second when Hendry Jimenez walked, but that was when the game was stopped due to rain.

After the completion of Saturday's suspended game at 1:05 pm, the two teams will wrap up the three-game series with the regularly-scheduled contest that will know be a seven-inning game. The Lake Monsters will then head to Lowell for games Monday and Tuesday before returning to Centennial Field for their final three regular-season home games Wednesday through Friday against Connecticut.
