Jacksonville Sharks News Release

JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Sharks announced Tuesday that the team has activated defensive back Brodrick Brown from inactive reserve.

The 24-year-old Brown (5'9", 185) appeared in each of the Sharks' first 10 games this season, making three starts, before being placed on inactive reserve prior to the team's Week 13 matchup with the Spokane Shock. Brown is currently the Sharks' fourth-leading tackler, totaling 27.5 stops (26 solo) to go along with one tackle for loss and one pass breakup. Brown notched a season high of 4.5 tackles in Jacksonville's Week 9 victory over the Iowa Barnstormers.

An AFL rookie, Brown spent his collegiate career at Oklahoma State University. Brown appeared in a total of 40 games with the Cowboys, where he was a three-year starter at defensive back. As a senior in 2012, he ranked fifth on the team with 62 tackles. That followed a junior campaign in which Brown racked up 20 passes defended (five interceptions, 15 pass breakups). Brown attended Westfield High School in Houston, Texas.

The Sharks also announced Tuesday that wide receiver Jeron Harvey has been placed on injured reserve. Following the transactions, the Jacksonville roster remains at the League maximum of 24 active players.
