Brockton Rox News Release

Brockton, MA (February 11, 2009) - Amid the schemes and deception that have cost investors world-wide billions of dollars, the Brockton Rox are getting back to basics with an investment opportunity for all consumers. The Rox new investment plan operates under the simple, sensible mantra: "This time, you get to keep your money."

On Saturday, August 8th, for just a small investment equaling the price of a Brockton Rox ticket, fans can immediately reap unusually large returns in the form of a limited edition giveaway; the "Made-Off-With-My-Money Bank."

The "Made-Off-With-My-Money Bank" or "Made-Off Bank," for short, will be designed to truly encapsulate the Rox Investment Plan idea of "keeping your money." The bank will contain a feature to promote long-term investing with a penalty for early withdrawal. Investments can only be removed from the bank by smashing it open.

From the moment the gates open, events throughout the night will encapsulate the principles of responsible investing and proper supervision. The Rox will extend a special invitation to a local hero for blowing the whistle on a highly publicized, fraudulent investment scheme. Boston-based financial investigator Harry Markopoulos will be invited to throw out the evening's ceremonial first pitch. In Mr. Markopoulos' honor, "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" will be performed by a whistle-blowing band during the seventh-inning stretch. In addition, Rox Manager Chris Carminucci pledged his support.

"Any one of my players caught stealing during that game will have to pay a fine," he said. "Hopefully it will spread the message that stealing is wrong and getting thrown out at third base with two outs is even worse."

A sketch of the Made-Off Bank is attached. Its design is not modeled after any one individual and any likeness to real persons is purely coincidental, but just in case we added a funny nose and glasses.

The Brockton Rox open the 2009 season on Thursday, May 28th against the defending Can-Am League champion Sussex Skyhawks. Opening night is presented by CVS/pharmacy and the first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM. Season tickets, mini-plans, flex packs, and group outings are available now through the Rox front office at (508) 559-7000.
