Brockton Rox News Release
Brockton extended its lead in the closely contested North Division to two-and-a-half games with a 6-2 victory over North Shore. Brian Buchanon continued to dominate for the Rox, throwing seven full innings while allowing just four hits and a run. Jake Daubert enjoyed a 3-for-3 night at the plate, doubling and scoring in the second and adding a homer in the fourth, his second in two games. Onix Mercado had the only multiple-hit night for the Spirit, doubling three times and driving in a run. With two on and two out in the top of the ninth, Tony Runion entered the game and struck out Nilson Teilon to shut the door on the Spirit and earn his sixth save of the year. The Spirit allowed Quebec to move into a tie for second in the division with the loss.
