Broadhurst named USHL Offensive Player of the Week

The United States Hockey League announced Monday that Stampede forward Terry Broadhurst has been named RBK USHL Offensive Player-of-the-Week after posting six points (1g, 5a) in three wins last week for the Herd. Broadhurst had two assists in the Stampede's 5-4 shootout win against Sioux City last Wednesday and assisted on the game winning goal at Cedar Rapids on Friday. He ended the week with a goal and two assists in a 6-5 shootout win over Green Bay. Broadhurst set up the game tying goal with just 28 seconds left in regulation to force overtime and eventually a shootout. He also finished the week with a plus-3 rating.

In his second season with the Stampede, Broadhurst has already more than doubled his point total from a year ago with 46 points (21g, 25a) in 45 games. His 21 goals lead all Stampede players and ranks fifth overall in the league. The Orland Park, IL native posted 23 points (7g, 16a) in 56 games last season. He has already committed to Nebraska-Omaha for the 2009-10 season.

Broadhurst and the Stampede put their five-game winning streak on the line Wednesday night when they host the Omaha Lancers at 7:05 PM at the Sioux Falls Arena. The Herd will then host Fargo on Friday before traveling to Omaha on Saturday. The Stampede have won seven straight games at home and enter the week just four points behind Fargo for third place in the West Division.
