PACK RATS: The Ice is 2-2-0 in their first four seasons in the USHL on "Pack the House Night" and
4-3-3 in the ten all-time games played at Conseco Fieldhouse.
PTH- 2/12/05- Jimmy Spratt (Bowling Green) led Sioux City to a 3-0 shutout of the Ice with a 28-save effort...Pat Watson (Merrimack) stopped 24 shots in net for Indy.
PTH- 2/25/06- Garrett Roe (St. Cloud) scored his second of two goals at 2:46 of overtime to lift the Ice past Des Moines 5-4...John Kemp (UNO) and Eddie Del Grosso (UNO) combined for seven assists.
PTH- 2/3/07- The Ice trailed Green Bay 5-1 early in the game, but rallied for four straight goals to tie the game at five...Mike Borisenok (New Hampshire) then scored for Green Bay at 16:05 of the third to carry them to a 7-5 victory...Greg Squires (Western Michigan) led all Indiana players with two goals and an assist.
PTH- 2/23/08- The Ice scored four of the game's final five goals to post a 6-3 win over Cedar Rapids...Indy received a four-point outing from John Kemp (UNO) and three-point contests from T.J. Syner (UMass) and Jake Skjodt (UNO)... Scott Darling (Maine) collected 35 saves in net.
DIVISION TIGHT: Ten points separate first to fifth in the USHL's tightly-contested East Division. Green Bay and Cedar Rapids anchor the top spot with 62 points, while the Ice enters this week's play two points back with 60 points. Waterloo occupies the fourth spot with 55 points, while Chicago is right on their tails with 52 points as the Steel have rattled off seven consecutive victories.
CLOSING IN: All-Star goaltender Brett Bennett is one win shy of the Ice franchise record for most victories in a season (27) set last year by current University of Maine standout, Scott Darling. Bennett has been scorching in net for Indiana of late as he is 3-2-0 with a 1.21 goals-against-average and a .956 save percentage in his last five starts between the pipes. He leads all league netminders in wins and tops all goaltenders with 20 or more appearances in save percentage (.917).
TEAM CLIPBOARD: Torey Krug had a three-point night (G, 2A) in Friday's 4-1 win at Fargo and is fourth among USHL d-men in points (29)... Brent Gwidt played in his 156th game in an Ice uniform on Saturday moving him into third on the Ice's all-time games chart... Mike Cichy is tied for fourth in the USHL in scoring (52 pts)...Garrett Kennedy scored the lone goal on Saturday and leads the club with a (+18) plus/minus....The Ice has struggled offensively in their last five games (2.20 goals for/game), but has been strong defensively at the same time (1.80 goals allowed/game)...Indy won their other contest at Conseco Fieldhouse this year with a dramatic 6-5 win over Des Moines on New Year's Eve.
