Bridgeport Bluefish News Release

(Bridgeport, CT) - In Monday's victory against the Long Island Ducks, the Bridgeport Bluefish earned the 900th win in the history of the franchise.

The faces in the lineup may have changed from 1998 until 2010 but Willie Upshaw is the man responsible for bringing much of the on-field success to Bridgeport. He was the manager for the first win in franchise history and brought the only Atlantic League Championship to the Bluefish in 1999.

The Bluefish are five-and-a-half games ahead of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in the Liberty Division's second half standings. If the Bluefish make it to the postseason, it will be the first time since 2006 that Bridgeport can compete for a championship.

Regular season and playoff tickets are available at the Box Office, online at www.bridgeportbluefish.com, or by calling (203) 345-4800. Fans can book a luxury suite, group outing, picnic, or birthday party for the postseason by talking to a sales representative at (203) 345-4800. Game three of the playoffs is slated to take place at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Friday, September 24. If necessary, there will be a game four on Saturday, September 25. All postseason matchups include a 7:05 first pitch with the gates opening at 6:05.

Bridgeport returns home for the final homestand of the regular season on September 8. The Bluefish take on the Lancaster Barnstormers in a three game series which features a doubleheader. Wednesday's contest begins at 5:05 while the second game takes place a half-an-hour after the first one ends. There are two-seven inning affairs.

Fans unable to make it to The Ballpark at Harbor Yard are able to listen to the game live on www.bridgeportbluefish.com. The voice of the Bridgeport Bluefish, Perry Miles, will have the call of the action. Wednesday's pre-game show is set for 4:35 PM.
