Philadelphia Union News Release
Chester, Pa. (May 26, 2015) - Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Brian Sylvestre has been called back to Carolina RailHawks for the club's match in the Third Round of the 2015 U.S. Open Cup against Charlotte Independence. Sylvestre will be back with the Union Thursday and will be available for selection ahead of the team's match on Saturday against D.C. United.
Sylvestre, 22, was named to Major League Soccer's Week 12 Team of the Week as the goalkeeper. He had three saves against New York Red Bulls while earning his second consecutive win and clean sheet. He made his MLS debut earlier this month against Vancouver Whitecaps FC where he recorded a season-high seven saves.
He'll return to Carolina following an injury to the team's starting keeper. The RailHawks will play Charlotte in the Open Cup on Wednesday before returning to NASL action on Saturday to face Jacksonville Armada FC. Sylvestre will re-join the Union after Wednesday's match.
