Dayton Bombers News Release

The Dayton Bombers Professional Hockey Team has announced that it has reacquired winger Brian Cummings from the Augusta Lynx of the Southern Conference in exchange for defenseman Jonathan Gauthier. Cummings, 25, was a vital member of the 2001-2002 edition of the Dayton Bombers that advanced all the way to the Kelly Cup Finals.

Dayton Bombers Head Coach/General Manager of Hockey Operations Greg Ireland stated, "Though I feel as though our team has made good strides in recent games, I also feel that the "grittiness" level of the team has not been what it could be. Brian Cummings brings us the kind of grit, character, and physical nature at both ends of the rink that I believe will help us."

Cummings, a 6'0", 210 lb. winger out of West Roxbury, Massachusetts, totalled ten goals, ten assists, and 180 penalty minutes in 67 games with the Dayton Bombers during his rookie campaign in 2001-2002. He also played in seven games (six during the regular season and one in the playoffs) with the Bombers' AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, tallying one assist during regular season play.

Cummings is a four-year hockey product of Northeastern University in the NCAA's Hockey East Conference, where he was an assistant captain his senior season. After his college career ended, he joined the Syracuse Crunch for five games in 2000-2001 and scored his first professional goal.

Cummings had two goals, six assists, and 23 penalty minutes in 19 games played with the Bombers' divisional rivals, the Wheeling Nailers, earlier this season.

The Bombers have three home games this weekend. At all three games, fans can get the chance to win a turkey, courtesy of Cub Foods. The Bombers will host the first-year Lexington Men O'War on Friday, November 22 (7:30 p.m.).

On Saturday, November 23, the Bombers, who beat Wheeling 6-3 last Friday at the Nutter Center, will play the Nailers (7:30 p.m) once again. Fans can bring a canned good for the St. Vincent Hotel and get $2.00 off a silver seat ticket at the door (no other discounts apply). Miss Ohio Kelly Haas will sign autographs on the concourse and sing the National Anthem at the game as well.

On Sunday, the Bombers will entertain the Johnstown Chiefs for a 6:00 p.m. game. This game marks another Kids' Club Sunday presented by Capn' Bogeys. There will also be a post-game skate with the players (NO PRE-GAME SKATE).

Tickets for all Bombers' home games as well as corporate marketing packages are available through the Bombers' office by calling (937) 775-4747, by logging onto www.daytonbombers.com, or by visiting the Nutter Center Box Office.
