Breast Cancer Awareness Auction Begins

(Central Islip, N.Y., Aug. 23, 2010) - The Long Island Ducks will kick off the fifth annual Breast Cancer Awareness Jersey/Bat auction on Monday Night, where fans can bid on the pink jerseys and bats used by their favorite Ducks players and coaches. The Ducks will sport the jerseys and use the bats during the August 23rd game against the York Revolution, as part of the Fifth Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night.
Bids will start at $75 and be raised in $10 increments. The auction will run through Friday, September 10th. Fans interested in bidding can do so by visiting the auction table located inside the Waddle In Shop. The final bids will be taken at the conclusion of the visitors' half of the seventh inning during the September 10th game, with winners to be announced later the same evening. Proceeds from the auction will benefit multiple Long Island Breast Cancer Coalitions participating in the event. All donations are tax deductible.
The Long Island Ducks are in their 11th Season of play in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. They have filled their ballpark to over 100 percent capacity for 10 consecutive seasons and are one of the most successful minor league franchises in the country.
