Breaking Down the XI | Semifinal Starters
August 6, 2019 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Orlando City SC News Release
It's the Semifinals of the U.S. Open Cup and Orlando City will square off against Atlanta United at Exploria Stadium.
James O'Connor has thrown out a first choice lineup in pursuit of a trip to the final.
In goal, Adam Grinwis will continue his magical Open Cup run. City's second-year keeper has made miraculous saves throughout the tournament, including the team's PK shootout against NYCFC.
In front of him is the standard four of João Moutinho, Robin Jansson, Lamine Sané and Ruan. The backline lead the Lions to a clean sheet against FC Dallas on the weekend.
In the midfield, Will Johnson, Sacha Kljestan, and Sebas Méndez will lead the charge.
Up top, it's the attacking trio of Nani, Dom Dwyer, and Tesho Akindele. With Chris Mueller and Benji Michel available from the bench, look for high pressure from this group all match.
Starting XI Presented by Orlando Health: Grinwis, Moutinho, Jansson, Sané, Ruan, Johnson, Kljestan, Méndez, Nani, Dwyer, Akindele.
Bench: De John, Michel Mueller, O'Neill, Powers, Rosell, Rowe.
