Osborne Reports on National Team Camp

Hello Breakers Fans!

Greetings from rainy and cold Los Angeles. After spending the last few months in Germany, I was looking forward to the typical sunny weather. That's wasn't the case here during training camp over the last 11 days.

I was happy to be back in LA over the last few weeks having lived in Hermosa Beach for three years. Some of the reasons why I love LA are my beautiful niece (Giana), amazing sushi restaurants, Coffee Bean and The Home Depot Center, a great soccer complex. All of which I got to see and experience while there for camp.

While camp was pretty intense I was so happy to be back training with the National Team and my Breakers teammate Amy LePeilbet. We started the training camp on Saturday, December 5th and finished Tuesday, December 15th.

On Sunday, December 6th, we had our most dreaded fitness test: the "beep" test.

Lilly Races for a Cause

This holiday season Breakers midfielder Kristine Lilly is encouraging others to give back to those less fortunate as part of the Who Gives? Racing for a Cause campaign by Athletes for Hope, the charitable organization assists athletes in contributing to the community. Lilly will be participating in a friendly competition against other professional athletes like Mia Hamm, Tony Hawk, Lance Armstrong, and Julie Foudy in a fundraising challenge for their charity of choice.

Lilly has selected Clifford's Gift, a non-profit organization that provides support to homeless people in West Chester, Penn. Five years ago Lilly's best friend from high school started the organization and has assisted hundreds of homeless people get back on their feet.

The athletes have until January 15, 2010 to accept donations. If Lilly raises the most money or receives the highest number of donations, she will win additional monetary prizes for Clifford's Gift.
