Braves win second straight preseason game

RICHMOND, VA - The Richmond Braves beat the New Orleans Zephyrs of the Pacific Coast League 7-4 in a preseason game Thursday in Viera, FL. The Braves earned their second straight win over the Zephyrs, hammering 13 hits to back winning pitcher Anthony Lerew.

Lerew tossed five innings of two hit, scoreless ball. He struck out four and walked just one. Scott Thorman had two hits, including a two-run homer. Mike Ryan knocked in three runs. Brayan Pena, David Kelton, and Bill McCarthy also had two hits.

The Braves conclude their preseason schedule today vs. the Buffalo Bisons, their Opening Day opponent, in Winter Haven, FL. The Braves break camp Sunday and will arrive in Richmond Tuesday.
