Rome, GA - Wednesday afternoon was a quiet one for the Greenville Drive offense, as four Rome Braves pitchers combined to shut out the Drive by a 4-0 score in the series finale between the two teams.

Despite both teams collecting eight hits on the day, the Braves (8-6, 35-48) took advantage of their offensive opportunities, scoring in each of the first two innings against Anderson Espinoza (4-8). Ray-Patrick Didder led off the first with a single, stole second and third, then came home on Alejandro Salazar's RBI single.

Carlos Castro singled to begin the second, and he later came home on Yeudi Grullon's groundout to second to make the score 2-0.

The Drive (5-8, 42-40) had the bases loaded against Ricardo Sanchez (5-6) in the third, but a strikeout ended the inning and left all three men on. Sanchez got the win after working the first five innings.

Grayson Jones, Eric O'Flaherty and Josh Graham combined to keep the Drive scoreless over the final four frames.

An RBI triple by Justin Ellison in the sixth scored Austin Riley, who hit a leadoff single, to make the score 3-0 and chase Espinoza. Grullon added a sacrifice fly later in the inning for the final run.

Greenville received a three-hit game from Jeremy Rivera, his second of the week. Luis Alexander Basabe chipped in with two hits on the day. Jeffry Fernandez hurled three scoreless innings of relief.

From here, the Drive continue their road trip with a four-game series against the Lexington Legends, affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. Thursday's first pitch in Lexington is at 7:05 PM, and the Drive will send right-hander Roniel Raudes (8-2, 3.78) to the mound.
