GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Suns let a two-run lead slip away in the ninth in a 4-3 defeat by the Greenville Braves in front of 1,562 fans at Municipal Stadium.

Suns closer Lino Urdaneta (0-4) earned the loss when he failed to hold a 3-1 lead when he took over in the ninth. He walked leadoff man Cory Aldridge on four pitches and then permitted three subsequent doubles to James Jurries, Bill McCarthy and Kelly Johnson.

The victory snapped a six-game losing streak for the Braves (18-21). The Suns (17-22) have lost 10 of its last 11 games and haven't won on the road since April 25.

Suns starter Edwin Jackson tied a career-high with nine strikeouts over six innings. He allowed one run and two hits while walking four.

Braves starter and No. 1 prospect Adam Wainwright nearly matched Jackson pitch-for-pitch. He ran into trouble in the seventh after retiring two batters. Wainwright struck out six, walked none and scattered nine hits.

Jason Repko had three hits to lead the Suns. Johnson had three hits and two RBI to pace Greenville.

Kazuhiro Takeoka (2-0) earned the victory in relief for the Braves.

Left-hander Eric Stults (2-4, 5.63 ERA) is scheduled to face Braves righty Bubba Nelson (3-2, 4.03) at 7:15 p.m. from Municipal Stadium.
