Braves Rally Not Enough, Rome Falls 7-6

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves dropped game three of four against the West Virginia Power 7-6

before a crowd of 4,453. Rome held an early 4-0 lead and West Virginia chipped away to take the lead ninth to get the win.

West Virginia took a 4-0 lead in the second inning thanks to Travis Swaggerty singled home two runs, Connor Kaiser added an RBI single, and a throwing error allowed another run to cross the plate. Rome answered with a run in the bottom of the frame on Alan Crowley's single to score a run for the 4-1 score. In the third, the Power added two more runs on RBI base hits from Jesse Medrano and Lolo Sanchez for the 6-1 lead. West Virginia scored again in the fourth on Deon Stafford's (10) home run making it a 7-1 game.

Rome finally got cranked up in the sixth posting four runs highlighted by a two RBI double from Trey Harris, Hagen Owenby's run scoring single, and a sacrifice fly RBI from Crowley for the 7-5 score. In the bottom of the ninth, Rome loaded the bases with no one out with Harris the batter who hit into a fielder's choice to plate the Braves' sixth run of the game. Unfortunately for Braves fans, Rome couldn't score again and the Power held on for the 7-6 win.

West Virginia Starter Samuel Reyes (3-3) is credited with the win while Braves Freddy Tarnok (4-5) gets the loss.
