Rome, GA - The Rome Braves fell to the Augusta Greenjackets Tuesday afternoon 7-4, before a crowd of 4,017 fans at State Mutual Stadium. The series is now tied 1-1.
Augusta's Andrew Cain scored off of a wild pitch by Mauricio Cabrera after he doubled and stole third in the third inning for 1-0 score. The Greenjackets added two more runs in the fourth when Mitch Delfino hit a sacrifice fly allowing Matt Dufft to score and Trevor Brown received an RBI triple to make the score 3-0.
The Braves answered in the bottom of the fourth inning thanks to lead off single by Josh Elander who would later score on a Ronald Luna sacrifice fly for a score of 3-1. The Braves added two more runs in the fifth and one in the 6th to close to a 6-4 game but it wasn't enough as Augusta pitching shut down the Rome offense the rest of the game for the final score of 7-4.
Augusta's starter Chris Stratton (5-2) was awarded his fifth win of the season while Rome's Mauricio Cabrera (1-3) was tagged with the loss.
The Braves play tomorrow at 1pm for a business fan's special start time. For ticket information, contact the Rome Braves at 706-378-5144 or log onto www.romebraves.com.
