Tri-City Storm News Release
Buffalo, N.Y. - Tri-City Storm forward Brandon Duhaime was selected by the Minnesota Wild in the fourth round, No. 106 overall, at the 2016 NHL Entry Draft Saturday at the First Niagara Center.
A midseason acquisition from the Chicago Steel, Brandon Duhaime quickly established a physical, two-way presence with the Storm. The 6-foot-1, 198-lb. winger played the final 18 games of the regular season with Tri-City and had five goals, ten points, a plus-3 rating and 46 penalty minutes.
Overall, the 19-year-old had 15 goals, 42 points and 143 penalty minutes in 57 games during the regular season.
The Providence College commit hummed in the playoffs, notching four goals and eight points in 11 games. Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals may have been Duhaime's brightest moment, deking between a defender's legs and potting a short-handed goal that placed the Storm ahead for good against Waterloo. He scored an empty-net goal with 1:45 left in Game 3 of the Clark Cup Final that helped the Storm secure a 3-0 sweep against Dubuque.
A native of Parkland, Florida, Duhaime was ranked 92nd on NHL Central Scouting's North American Skater list in April. From 2012-14, Duhaime played for the Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada and competed for the BCHL's Merritt Centennials in 2014-15, scoring six goals and 25 points in 53 games.
Tri-City Storm season tickets are available for 2016-17 and can be purchased by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8011.
