Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
Fort Worth- Jeff Bowerman, Vice President of Communications for the Fort Worth Brahmas, was selected as the Central Hockey League's Public Relations Executive of the Year at the CHL's 2004 Spring Conference AwardS Banquet that was held this past Saturday, June 5 in Phoenix, Arizona.
The Public Relations Executive of the Year honor is presented annually to the Central Hockey League public relations executive who best exemplifies the qualities of excellence and professionalism in the public relations field. The honor is a first for Bowerman, who has been with the Brahmas since January of 2001.
Brahmas general manager Mike Barack said the award for Bowerman was well deserved.
"We (our organization) are very excited about this award," said Barack, "Jeff has brought a consistent level of professionalism to the Brahmas and with our local media. His work ethic is tremendous, and we have improved media coverage this past season despite the team's on ice performance."
In addition to Bowerman's award, the Brahmas organization was also one of three finalists for the Group Ticket Sales Franchise of the Year honor.
All total, fourteen awards, seven team and seven individual, were handed out at the awards banquet. Brad Lund, the Oklahoma City Blazers Chief Executive Officer, was recognized as the CHL Executive of the Year. The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, one of two CHL expansion franchises during the 2003-2004 season, were chosen as the CHL Franchise of the Year.
The Brahmas will begin their eighth season in franchise history, and their fourth in the Central Hockey League, in October of 2004. Season ticket and sponsorship packages for the 2004-2005 season are on sale now. For additional information, please contact the Brahmas office at (817) 336-4423.
