First Blood
After receiving the opening kickoff, the Brahmas scored a touchdown on their opening drive for the first time this season. A nine play, 40-yard drive that culminated with a three-yard touchdown pass to tight end Deon Yelder gave the Brahmas an early lead.
Opening and Closing
The Brahmas scored a touchdown on their final drive of the first half on a 19-yard touchdown strike from Quarterback
Jack Coan to Tight End Alize Mack. San Antonio's only two scores of the first half came on their opening and closing posessions. The Brahmas went into halftime leading Orlando 13-6.
Keeping the Momentum
After stopping the Guardians to begin the second half, the Brahmas went on an eight play, 75-yard touchdown drive to take a 20-6 lead. Quarterback Jack Coan connected with Wide Receiver Jalen Tolliver for a 24-yard touchdown.
Special Teams Magic
With 7:07 left in the third quarter, Brahmas receiver Travis Jonsen came up with the first blocked punt in Brahmas history. The block set up a 1-yard rushing score by running back Jonathan Hilliman to give San Antonio a 27-6 lead.
Penalty Problems
The Orlando Guardians committed 13 penalties for 100 yards in this afternoon's game.
The Jack Attack
Quarterback Jack Coan threw for three touchdowns and 165 yards in the victory. Coan also led the team in rushing yards with 23 yards on the ground, incliuding two first down rushes.
First Game Back
Delontae Scott led the Brahmas defense in total tackles with seven, including two tackles for loss and one sack. It was Scott's first game of the season after being inactive in week one with an injury.
Turnover Time
Defensive Back Ranthony Texada picked off Guardians Quarterback Deondre Francois in the fourth quarter in what was the Brahma's first takeaway of the season.
Good From Deep
Kicker Parker Romo drilled a 40-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to extend the Brahmas lead to 30-12. The field goal was Romo's third made field goal of 40 or more yards. His three made field goals from 40+ yards leads the XFL.
