Lone Star Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX - After a week of home games, the Brahmas close the 2018 portion of their schedule with nine of 11 games on the road. They kick off seven straight road games with their first trip of the season to Odessa.
Gameday Need-to-Know The Brahmas will take on the Jackalopes on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Puck drop on Friday is set for 7:11 PM. Puck drop on Saturday is set for 3:11 PM.
If you are making the trek west to Odessa, tickets can be purchased online or by calling the Jackalopes box office at 432-552-7825.
The game will be streamed live on HockeyTV and a radio broadcast will be available here.
Season Head-to-Head The Brahmas and Jackalopes have only played at the NYTEX Sports Centre so far this season. They last matched up in late October, with the Brahmas completing the sweep with 3-1 and 7-5 wins.
Overall, the Brahmas are 3-1-0 against the Jacks, with their only loss coming in their first meeting on September 28th. Since then, the Brahmas have been a perfect 3-0-0.
Forwards Michal Stinil and Matt Guerra have been Lone Star's leading scorers against Odessa, with five and four points in four games respectively.
Quick Notes
It's a quick turnaround for recently-acquired forward Eric Huss, who was traded from the Jackalopes this week. Huss, a Dallas native, made the drive and was at practice on Thursday. He'll be back in Odessa on Friday and should be in the lineup this weekend.
The Brahmas should look to get off to a fast start - they're 6-0-0 when leading after the first period.
The last time the Brahmas were in Odessa, they completed a three-game sweep to advance in the Robertson Cup Playoffs.
It will be the first time the Brahmas are facing any Odessa goalie this season besides C.J. Hapward. Conversely, Seth Eisele has only faced the Jackalopes for one second - Harrison Feeney was ejected from a game with only a second left in play. It was Eisele's NAHL debut. He Said It "It's important to finish the first half of the season strong, it'll make it easier to have momentum coming out of Christmas break and to have a better second half than we had in the first. I think the main difference is that we're not only starting to understand the systems but to fully buy in and not play as individuals, and if we do that we can beat any team in the league."
