Lone Star Brahmas News Release

The Lone Star Brahmas opened their weekend series against the Corpus Christi Icerays looking to end the month or February as their best month of the season. In their last meeting in early January the Brahmas completed a sweep of the Icerays after Corpus Christi had taken the first four games of the season.

Things got off to a good start for the Brahmas as they took control early with physical play and a barage of shots at the Icerays' netminder. They were finally able to break through on a Kellen Wasell (Anthony Mousseau, Austin Thielges) tip in at 13:02. With just over three minutes to go in the period Corpus Christi pulled even with a goal off an offensive zone draw to send the teams to the locker rooms deadlocked at one apiece.

The only scoring of the second period came with the Brahmas once again on the power play. This time it was Sebastian Vidmar (Thomas Aldsworth, Matt Lison). Vidmar made a strong move around the back of the net and pounded it through Myers at 8:33.

Unfortunately, the Icerays errupted for three goals in the last 3:17 of the third, including an empty netter, to take the 4 - 2 win.
