
Brahmas Drop Defensive Battle to Sundogs

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - The Brahmas fell to the Arizona Sundogs 2-1 Saturday night in a defensive battle at the NYTEX Sports Centre.
The Brahmas jumped out to an early 1-0 lead at the 11:28 mark of the first period when Tomas Klempa stole the puck in the Sundogs' zone and beat Arizona netminder Adam Russo with a wrister from the left face-off circle. For Klempa, the goal was his 17th of the season and second in as many nights.
Arizona tied the game just 4:35 later as Mario Larocque scored on a slap shot from the high slot.
After a scoreless middle frame, Kevin Baker notched the game-winning goal at 2:25 of the third period to give Arizona the 2-1 victory.
Brahmas goaltender Kristofer Westblom made 17 saves on 19 shots, falling to 21-7-4 this season. Russo stopped 14 of 15 shots in net for the Sundogs, earning his 16th win of the 2012-13 campaign.
With the loss, Fort Worth falls into third place in the Central Hockey League, one point behind the Wichita Thunder for second.
The Brahmas host the Allen Americans at the NYTEX Sports Centre Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16 at 7:30pm each night.
