Fort WorthâThe Ft. Worth Brahmas made a sizable player trade today, sending defenseman Mike Tilson to the Corpus Christi Rayz in exchange for three playersâcenter Rob Giffin, defenseman Matt Munro, and center Lloyd Marks.
Giffin, 5'10", 160, is a native of Peterborough, Ontario and is in his sixth professional season. He has 78 goals, 140 assists, and 242 penalty minutes in 251 professional games played. This year with Corpus Christi he has totaled 7 goals and 17 assists in 20 games played. His best numbers as a pro came during the 2000-2001 season with the Monroe Moccasins (WPHL) when he scored 31 goals and assisted on 36 others for a career high 67 points.
Munro is in is second professional campaign after playing last season in Germany with the Hassfurt ERC club. In 50 games last year with Hassfurt, Munro had 1 goal, 11 assists, and 63 penalty minutes. This year with Coprus Christi he has 3 goals and 3 assists in 24 games played. A native of London, Ontario, Munro stands 6'1" and weighs 195 pounds.
Marks is in his rookie season out of Sacred Heart University (NCAA). In 12 games this year in a Rayz uniform, he has 2 goals and 3 assists. Born in Syndenham, Ontario, Marks checks in at 5'8", 175.
Giffin, Munro, and Marks will travel to Ft. Worth this afternoon and be in the Brahmas lineup tonight when they host the Indianapolis Ice at 7:05 p.m. at the Ft. Worth Convention Center. Tilson will report to Corpus Christi today and make his Rayz debut against the Austin Ice Bats.
Tonight's game is the last for the Brahmas before the Christmas break. Ft. Worth will return to the ice on Friday, December 27 when they play the Tulsa Oilers at the Ft. Worth Convention Center. For more information, please contact the Brahmas office at 817-336-4423.
