Bradenton Juice News Release

BRADENTON, FL-The Bradenton Juice announced today the signing of their first three players, including one Bradenton resident.

Michael Golom, Luis Gonzalez, and John Kokotajlo were among more than 70 participants who put their skills on display Saturday at the South Coast League tryout camp held at Lakewood Ranch. Following the tryout, a draft conducted by team and league officials resulted in the selection of 16 players by SCL teams.

Golom, who lives in Bradenton and trains at IMG's baseball academy, is a 6 foot tall, 180 pound centerfielder, who also plays shortstop. The 22-year old right-hander from Illinois played his high school ball at St. Stephens in Bradenton. Golom went on to play two years for Duke before transferring to the University of Rio Grande in Ohio, where he set numerous offensive records.

Gonzalez is a 25-year old catcher who was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but grew up in Venezuela. The 6'1" 195-pounder is a right-hander who played his college ball at Broward Community College in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Gonzalez has professional experience in the Venezuelan Winter League and with the Windy City ThunderBolts of the independent Frontier League.

John Kokotajlo is a middle infielder with professional experience. The 23-year old from Trenton, New Jersey stands 5'11" and weighs 180 pounds. The right-hander played college ball at Georgia Southwestern and then transferred to Kennesaw State University in Atlanta as a senior. Kokotajlo played briefly last season with the Sioux City Explorers of the American Association.

"We are very excited about having these young men play for the Juice and also become an integral part of this community," said SCL Florida Director of Operations Omar Roque.

The Juice offers fan-friendly, affordable fun; they will join five other charter franchises to begin South Coast League play in May of 2007.
