Bradenton Juice News Release
BRADENTON, FL- The Bradenton Juice announced today the hiring of James Frisbie as manager. The 34-year old will guide the Juice in their inaugural 2007 season in the independent South Coast League.
With an extensive background in independent baseball as a player, coach, and manager, Frisbie is thrilled about this opportunity.
"We'll give guys who may have been overlooked a chance to get noticed. My primary focus is to move these kids on," Frisbie said, "I'm like the guys I'm signing- hungry."
If determination is contagious, Frisbie's players will have a vivacious appetite for success. Slowed by arm surgery and a blood disease that left him physically drained, Frisbie himself was overlooked by scouts coming out of Abilene Christian and W. Texas A&M University. The left-handed pitcher stubbornly attended eighteen tryout camps before finally being signed to a pro contract by Alexandria in 1998. He pitched for the Aces and the Greenville Bluesmen of the Texas-Louisiana League for four seasons.
Frisbie has been a pitching coach for Rio Grande Valley and Jackson of the Central League, Chillicothe of the Frontier League, and Coastal Bend in the American Association. He managed Rio Grande Valley in 2003. Currently residing in the Washington D.C. area, Frisbie says he is anxious to assume his new position with the Juice and become a part of the Bradenton community.
The Juice offers fan-friendly, affordable fun. They will play a 90-game season, with 45 home games at Manatee Community College, beginning in May of 2007. Season tickets are available by calling 941-761-HOME.
